1. Florida International University’s Partners in Progress 2 (PIP2)

Partners in Progress 2 (PIP2) is a unique collaborative program between Florida International University and Miami-Dade County Public Schools that provides a systematic approach to developing academic skills while preparing you for college admission. The program allows students to take two dual-enrollment college courses and earn six credits as part of a transition to higher education. It offers students the opportunity to experience college coursework and access university resources. Additionally, the program includes workshops and group research projects focused on key aspects of the college application process, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities. 

2. Young Scholars Program (YSP)

Location: Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL

Program Dates: June 7 – July 18

Eligibility: Students who completed 11th grade in Florida public or private high schools with a minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA; 90th percentile or better in math on nationally standardized exam (SAT, PSAT, ACT, or PLAN). Must be enrolled in or have completed Pre-Calculus.

The Young Scholars Program (YSP) is a science and mathematics summer program with significant potential for careers in STEM fields. During the program, you'll typically attend three courses in mathematics, science, and computer programming. Mathematics options include Game Theory, exploring strategic decision-making through Nash equilibrium and evolutionary stable strategies, and Linear Algebra, examining applications in encryption, Google search rankings, and dynamic systems. Science courses are organized into tracts: the Biological Sciences tract and the Physical Sciences tract, focusing on innovation, design, and engineering using 3D modeling and fabrication. Programming courses include Computer Science with R and Computer Science with Python. Assessment emphasizes participation, written solutions, presentations, and collaborative group projects. 

3. Junior Doctors of Tomorrow (JDOT)

The Junior Doctors of Tomorrow (JDOT) Program is a summer enrichment program providing high school students with an immersive journey into the world of medicine. Interactive learning sessions cover a range of topics in medicine, from understanding patient care to exploring various medical specialties. 4. Student Science Training Program (SSTP)

The University of Florida Student Science Training Program (SSTP) is a research program for academically talented students considering careers in science, medicine, math, computer science, or engineering. You'll engage in ongoing faculty-mentor research, develop hands-on laboratory skills, and contribute to active scientific investigations. The University of Miami Summer Scholars Program is a three-week residential credit program that allows you to earn six college credits while exploring your academic interests at one of the nation's most active research universities. You'll select one academic specialty from UM's schools and colleges and take two courses for a total of 6 credit hours. Academic specialties include Architecture, Engineering, and Technology; Business, Finance, and Global Relations; Business, Law, and Litigation Foundations; Biomedical and Health Sciences Exploration; Communication and Digital Media; Exploration Sciences (Marine); Music Industry and Music Therapy; and Sport Administration and Sport Medicine.

Each specialty structures courses around hands-on experiences, guest lecturers, open discussion, lab work, and field trips. The UM Academies provide immersive two-week academic programs where you can explore your interests in engaging, experiential non-credit courses at the University of Miami. These academies offer specialized learning experiences in diverse fields, allowing you to dive deep into subjects that fascinate you. You'll select one course to study over the two-week session from options including Upreneur: Pre-College X LaunchPad Venture Challenge (entrepreneurship and venture creation), Crime Scene Investigation and Forensic Science Academy, Shark Research and Conservation Academy, Intensive English programs for English Language Learners, and The Innovation Data Lab. They provide intensive exploration of specialized topics with hands-on learning experiences. Advancing Women in Mathematics Across the Americas (WIMSA) is an initiative at the University of Miami's Department of Mathematics in collaboration with the Institute of the Mathematical Sciences of the Americas that provides advanced math classes for university credit to female high school juniors and seniors. The program keeps cohorts small to ensure personalized attention and individual mentorship for each participant. You'll take university-level mathematics courses for college credit during the academic year, working closely with UM faculty and receiving support designed specifically for advanced female mathematics students. This program prepares young women for college-level mathematics while building confidence and community among them as they pursue STEM.

The Summer Pre-Medical Professions Program (SPMPP) atthe  UF College of Medicine is designed to nurture future medical professionals through early exposure and engagement. The program's mission is to shape the next generation of physicians and medical professionals by providing early exposure to medical careers and fostering interest and skills for future success in the field. You'll work to identify and describe the roles of physicians and other medical professionals, understand the key academic and extracurricular steps required to pursue medicine, and explore how medical professionals provide holistic, patient-centered care at the individual and community levels. You'll work closely with UFCOM medical students, faculty, and staff through multiple experiential learning opportunities. The program includes observing direct patient care through shadowing experiences, participating in hands-on skill-building sessions where you'll practice medical techniques, curating a personal development plan to support your professional growth, and completing a team-based capstone presentation.

9. Florida Youth Institute

The Florida Youth Institute is a summer program for students interested in exploring college majors and career opportunities in life sciences, biological engineering, natural resources, and Florida agriculture. Through this immersive experience, you'll gain exposure to critical issues surrounding food security and sustainable agriculture while experiencing university life. Program highlights include meeting the dean, various faculty members, and students from the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences, as well as representatives from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and the World Food Prize. You'll experience hands-on laboratory work, explore cutting-edge agricultural technologies, and reflect on food security issues facing the world today. The program connects classroom concepts to practical applications, helping you understand how agricultural sciences address global challenges like feeding growing populations and protecting natural resources. 

10. Summer Institute Computer Science

Eligibility: Students enrolled in grades 7-11, minimum age 13 by start, and minimum 3.0 GPA with strong performance in mathematics- Algebra I is a prerequisite.

The Summer Institute Computer Science program offers individualized instruction in computer science fundamentals through interactive learning with outstanding instructors. Beyond technical skills, the program provides invaluable opportunities to interact with like-minded peers who share similar interests and talents. The program offers three levels based on experience and math background. Level I- Beginner Programming and Game Design in Python is ideal if you're interested in learning about computer science, programming, and video game design. Level 2 - Object-Oriented Programming in Python/PyGame is suitable for those who've taken at least one programming course, such as AP Computer Science Principles. It focuses on writing basic games with game loops, moving objects, collision detection, and object-oriented design. Level 3- Introduction to Competitive Programming targets students interested in competitive programming who may not yet have the skills for online competitions or school teams. 

11. Summer Institute Mathematical Exploration

The Mathematical Exploration Summer Institute is a program for high school students interested in mathematical exploration beyond the standard high school curriculum. Through hands-on activities, group work, and lectures from UCF professors, you'll discover exciting mathematics while developing as a mathematician! You'll engage in deep exploration of mathematical concepts, discover new arguments and proofs, and explain your insights to peers. Beyond individual mathematical growth, you'll be immersed in a community of others who share your mathematical talent and curiosity, creating connections with students who appreciate mathematics at the same level.

Pre-College at Eckerd offers high school students the opportunity to experience academic and residential life through programs that combine academically rigorous, hands-on learning with college-level coursework. Programs immerse you in accelerated, hands-on learning experiences that combine classes led by Eckerd College faculty, guest speakers, collaborative workshops, and off-site trips. Marine-focused programs include Sharks & Rays, where you'll study shark and ray biology, behavior, and conservation; Coastal & Wildlife Ecology, exploring Florida's coastal ecosystems; Animal Studies examining animal behavior and welfare; and Marine Science investigating ocean systems and marine life. The AI, Ethics, and Technology program explores the societal implications of artificial intelligence. The University of Florida Gator JumpStart Biology is an engaging, hands-on residential program designed to enrich and prepare high school students for Biology I by giving them a "jump" on state standards. Throughout the program, you'll work directly with university scientists, gaining exposure to how professional biologists conduct research. You'll visit research sites on UF's campus, seeing firsthand where scientific discoveries happen and learning about various biology specialties. The program emphasizes collaborative learning through small-group discussions, where you'll explore biological concepts with peers and engage in social activities that build community while staying in UF dorms. Beyond academics, you'll experience residential college life, manage your schedule, live independently, and connect with students who share your interest in science.
