2.Veritas AI

Veritas AI, founded and run by Harvard graduate students, offers programs for high school students who are passionate about artificial intelligence. Students looking to get started in AI, ML, and data science would benefit from the AI Scholars program.Through this 10-session boot camp, students are introduced to the fundamentals of AI & data science and have the opportunity to work on real-world projects. Another option for more advanced students is the AI Fellowship with Publication & Showcase. Through this program, students have the opportunity to work 1:1 with mentors from top universities on a unique, individual project. A bonus of this program is that students have access to the in-house publication team to help them secure publications in high school research journals. 3. Anson L. Clark Scholars Program

The Anson L. Clark Scholars Program places students in full-time research positions working directly with Texas Tech University faculty members. Each participant is matched with a mentor and spends several weeks contributing to a research project across fields ranging from biology and engineering to the social sciences and the humanities. With only 12 students selected each year, the program maintains a small cohort that enables close mentorship and individualized research experiences. Besides laboratory or project work, students engage in seminars, discussions, and organized field trips that offer a wider academic perspective. Scholars also present their research findings at the end of the program.

The Lumiere Research Scholar Program is a rigorous research program tailored for high school students. The program offers extensive 1-on-1 research opportunities for high school students across a broad range of subject areas. The program pairs high-school students with Ph.D. mentors to work 1-on-1 on an independent research project. At the end of the 12-week program, you’ll have developed an independent research paper! You can choose research topics from subjects such as psychology, physics, economics, data science, computer science, engineering, chemistry, international relations, and more.

5. National Institutes of Health (NIH) Summer Internship Program (SIP)

Location: NIH labs across the U.S.

Cost/Stipend: None; stipends may be offered

Acceptance rate/cohort size: ~12.5%

Dates: 6 – 8 weeks in the summer

Application Deadline: Rolling; closes February 18

Eligibility: U.S. citizens or permanent residents who are at least 18 by September 30 (or graduating seniors turning 18 by then and living within 40 miles of an NIH campus), and are enrolled at least half-time in high school, college, or a U.S. graduate program, or starting college after a single gap year

The NIH Summer Internship Program provides students with the opportunity to work in active biomedical research laboratories at one of the largest medical research institutions in the world. Interns are placed in labs where they assist researchers with ongoing projects in areas such as basic biology, clinical studies, or translational biomedical science. Under the guidance of experienced investigators, students learn how scientific research is conducted in professional laboratory settings. In addition to daily lab work, the program includes seminars, workshops, and career talks that introduce participants to different pathways in biomedical research and medicine. Students also have opportunities to interact with other interns and researchers across the NIH network.

6. Jackson Laboratory Summer Student Program (SSP)
